American Marksman-Long Range II will pick up where our Long Range I left off. We will continue to expand your knowledge in the Art and Science of long-range shooting. You will be taught to remain grounded in a robust approach to the fundamentals of precision rifle marksmanship. Students will receive continued introduction in environmental effects and how they affect long-range shooting. Rifle zero’s will be confirmed, marksmanship refresher and calibration will start the day out on the range, moving to grouping exercises and data collection out to distances of 400 yards.  We will then proceed out to more extended distances from 400-800 yards. Our goal is to achieve first round hit standards of head shots out to 200 yards with body shots out to 600 yards and first to second round hits out to 800 yards. This is the standard we believe that any capable Rifleman should be able to achieve, from any position and on demand. Each student will leave with a good muzzle velocity and usable data for their chosen rifle. Traditional positional shooting methods will be explained, demonstrated, preformed during practical exercises. Unconventional shooting methods using commercial and improvised rests and positions will be covered along with understanding our limitations. Environmental effects, range estimation, and the formula for long range success will be discussed and incorporated. This course will continue you down the path to understanding the world of long-range shooting and its application for the American Rifleman.
